As an EBW (Equine Body worker) she is qualified in how to administer sports massage therapy to horses and ponies. This is a full body massage covering 80 point locations of soft tissue and muscular stress. Oonagh understands the safe application of sports massage and any contraindications to treatment. She has a very good knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy. Also included in her training was an introduction to dental issues and saddle fitting as well as gait analysis.  

 

 

 

Possible signs your horse may need a massage...

 

Any change in normal behaviour, change in disposition, objecting to being tacked up, head shy, defensive when touched, unwilling to work as usual including not moving forwards or backing up, not tracking up, knocking poles down when jumping, dropping in at the shoulder, wrong lead in canter transition, lateral work not as easy and many more reasons...
